Rochelle Jordan Live at Säälchen (Berlin) 12.02.26
It felt like a dream to be able to watch one of the artists I have been listening to the past 4 years live in-concert. Rochelle Jordan was one of the first artists I discovered after a breakup.
I really got in to her song Already from her 2021 EP, Play with the Changes—one year, it even became my #1 most-streamed song.
Other than listening to the EP on repeat, I wasn’t really in the loop on which new projects were being released. It wasn’t until I saw a post on Instagram refer to something about an upcoming album that ended up sparking new interest. When her comeback studio album, Through the Wall, came out in the later-end of 2025, I officially became obsessed.
I witnessed her promoting her upcoming tour in North America live on TikTok—I began commenting on each new video, “Please come to Germany 💜💜💜”. As the weeks went by, I was so excited to see one day that she finally announced the European leg of her Through the WallTour of 2026. (I like to think I was personally responsible for Rochelle holding a concert in Berlin)

I obviously immediately bought my ticket and asked one of my best-friends who happens to live in in the area, if he could host me—It was originally understood that only I would be going to the concert. In preparation for the show, I printed out pictures of Rochelle in the hopes that one of my most-beloved artists would sign of one of them. When the day of the concert finally arrived, I caught the train from Munich to Berlin. My best-friend was initially hesitant to join me, however, knew how important this was was to me and was luckily able to snatch a ticket last-minute.
Since the visuals of Through The Wall are 80s-/early 90s-inspired, we thought it be best to peruse a second-hand store just before the concert in the opportune event we’d come across some vintage piece for the occasion. While walking in to one store in particular, Sweet Sensation, one of the tracks from the album, Through the Wall, was playing on the in-store music system. Being the curious person I am, I needed to know if this was a cosmic coincidence or if the music was just randomly playing. I asked one of the employees and found out that one of the sales associates did, in fact, know exactly who Rochelle Jordan is and would be later attending the same concert after his shift. We exchanged Instagrams and went on our way.
Next thing I know, we arrive to the concert hall. It was my first time in the venue and I was so nervous but excited at the same time—I immediately went to the bar and ordered myself a Weißweinschorle (white-wine with sparkling water) to calm the nerves. I learned, day-of, that Essosa would be opening the show which intrigued me because I was familiar with a couple of songs— Waste of Time, and Golden Touch, which she even performed. After Essosa rocked her set, it was then Rochelle’s time to shine.
As soon as came on to the stage, I was immediately enraptured by her— her energy, her voice, her audience engagement. It was clear to us in that moment that we were in the presence of an artiste. Rochelle performed all 17-tracks from Through The Wall which Billboard ranks as #13 on the Top 25 Dance Albums of 2025.
Being in the same room as this person felt so surreal—This was the woman who’s music I found comfort in after a breakup, the friend that accompanied me through my headphones on my walk home when the world around me was so dark and grey, and the artist who’s music I was dancing to alone in my room at 3am.
What’s even more unfathomable to me is that I was able to have such a lovely conversation with Miss Jordan. At the end of her show, I became the first person to secure their spot in the meet-and-greet line. As soon it was my turn to meet and greet, I nothing but poured out my love, support, and respect to this woman.
I suppose there’s this common idea of meeting your idols that prevents you from spitting out anything of a coherent sentence— but I seriously locked in. We laughed and kikied and she even autographed the photo I printed out for her. I mentioned how much I love the classic-sound of Through the Wall and how much it stands out by intelligently referencing older genres of music.
Every time I think of this moment, I can only smile and appreciate the kind, intelligent, and lovely lady that is the artist, Rochelle Jordan.
