ATaMAR

In this conversation, I got a chance to speak with Munich-based artist, ATaMAR otherwise known as Ugly Cut at Show Up Space in Munich—an artist and women-based collective founded at the beginning of 2024. Ugly Cut is ATaMAR’s label for accessories or “add-ons” such as earrings, chains, and hand-warmers. Ugly Cut also features a new product called the Yeti which is a reversible cap that keeps the wearer warm whilst being stylish and chic. ATaMAR describes her work as Edelschrott (“precious scraps”) which is likely due to the fact that her work is usually sourced from found-items otherwise meant for the bin.
